Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian as well as an American singer/songwriter. Her work has been featured on over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock, folk rock but also has influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco is considered as a feminist icon and a Grammy award winner. In the beginning, as one of the women's first artists of the 90s, she founded her own record label. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her mother was born in Montreal and her father is of Italian heritage. 32 Flavors is a hit song written that was performed and written by Ani DiFranco. This song appears on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. A version of the song is featured on the 1999 Canadian romantic movie Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco issued an apology in 2013, after it emerged that she had scheduled a three-day conference at a Louisiana plantation. It was called off however, many (including the news media) didn't think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterwards.
